Her perspective
When Initiation Feels Like One More Demand
You may be asking for closeness. After a day of being needed, she may hear another request of her body.
You mean, “I miss you.” She has spent the day answering questions, carrying plans and being touched by people who need something. When you reach for her, she may have no room left to receive another request, however lovingly you made it.
What arrived before your invitation
If a cuddle often turns into a bid for sex, she may stop trusting the cuddle. If saying no changes your mood, she has to manage your disappointment as well as her own exhaustion. Avoiding touch can start to feel easier than finding out where it is going.
Your wish for sex is real. Giving up every bid for closeness would be another kind of distance. For now, ask for something you can both freely give: a few minutes together, a hand held, a conversation. Mean it when you say it does not have to lead anywhere tonight.
Make room without buying a yes
Then come back to the larger problem away from the bed. What is consuming her capacity? Has the work of daily life become unfair? Does she miss desire too, or does touch now feel unsafe? Her answer may need practical change, time or professional care. It will not be solved by making one bedtime invitation sound gentler while the rest of the day stays the same.
