Her perspective

When Her Desire Needs More Context

She may need time, warmth and room before desire appears. That need is real, and so is your hurt about the distance.

You may be able to want her in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. She may still be thinking about the undone work, the conversation that went badly and how little of the day felt like her own. The same moment in bed can begin from two very different places.

  • Enough mental space to notice her own body.
  • Touch that is allowed to stop without consequence.
  • Warmth and repair outside the bedroom.
  • A daily load that leaves some part of her unclaimed.

Change the conditions, not her answer

It hurts to be the person reaching across a widening gap. Tell her that. Also ask how the day and the relationship feel from her side. She may need you to carry real work without being directed, to repair an old hurt, or to let affection remain affectionate. She may need medical help for pain or symptoms. She has to be able to tell you without the answer becoming a defence of your worth.

Context is not a permanent promise that desire will return if you do everything correctly. Nor is it a reason to let the sexual part of the marriage go unspoken. It is the place to start if pressure and resentment have made wanting harder to reach.
