Her perspective

When Conflict Feels Like the Only Way Through

Her urgency may rise as your distance grows. Understanding it can slow a fight without excusing intimidation.

You are trying to keep your voice level. She repeats the point, then raises hers. Every word makes you want to leave the conversation; every inch you pull away makes her more urgent.

She may be afraid the issue will disappear if she stops. To you the intensity feels like attack. To her your quiet may feel as though she has lost you in the middle of the fight. Neither feeling gives either person permission to hurt the other.
